Surah Az-Zalzalah - سورة الزلزلة
بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
TransliterationItha zulzilati al-ardu zilzalaha
Sahih InternationalWhen the earth is shaken with its [final] earthquake
PickthallWhen Earth is shaken with her (final) earthquake
Yusuf AliWhen the earth is shaken to her (utmost) convulsion,
TransliterationWaakhrajati al-ardu athqalaha
Sahih InternationalAnd the earth discharges its burdens
PickthallAnd Earth yieldeth up her burdens,
Yusuf AliAnd the earth throws up her burdens (from within),
TransliterationWaqala al-insanu ma laha
Sahih InternationalAnd man says, "What is [wrong] with it?" -
PickthallAnd man saith: What aileth her?
Yusuf AliAnd man cries (distressed): 'What is the matter with her?'-
TransliterationYawma-ithin tuhaddithu akhbaraha
Sahih InternationalThat Day, it will report its news
PickthallThat day she will relate her chronicles,
Yusuf AliOn that Day will she declare her tidings:
TransliterationBi-anna rabbaka awha laha
Sahih InternationalBecause your Lord has commanded it.
PickthallBecause thy Lord inspireth her.
Yusuf AliFor that thy Lord will have given her inspiration.
TransliterationYawma-ithin yasduru annasuashtatan liyuraw aAAmalahum
Sahih InternationalThat Day, the people will depart separated [into categories] to be shown [the result of] their deeds.
PickthallThat day mankind will issue forth in scattered groups to be shown their deeds.
Yusuf AliOn that Day will men proceed in companies sorted out, to be shown the deeds that they (had done).
TransliterationFaman yaAAmal mithqala tharratinkhayran yarah
Sahih InternationalSo whoever does an atom's weight of good will see it,
PickthallAnd whoso doeth good an atom's weight will see it then,
Yusuf AliThen shall anyone who has done an atom's weight of good, see it!
