True Islam
Islam literally means submission to Almighty God [(in hebrew) El, Eloi, Elah, Eloh, Elohim; (in arabic) Ilah, Alah, Allah, Allaah; the most Glorified, the most High]. It is the same ONE universal Message (the Reminder) that the Almighty revealed through all His messengers to every people in mankind throughout the ages and completed it with His Last and Final messenger Prophet Muhammad (peace be up him) and the final book Glorious Qur'an (the Last & Final Testament) 1400 years ago, confirming the previous messengers and scriptures.
Kabah, Makkah (Baca, Beca, Bakkah): (Psalms (Zabūr) 84:5-6, 10), (Genesis 16:7-8), (Genesis 16:13-14}, (Genesis 21:21), (Genesis 13:1-18), (Genesis 20:1); [Al-Qur'an 3:96] |
"Mankind was [of] one religion [before their deviation]; then Allah sent the prophets as bringers of good tidings and warners and sent down with them the Scripture in truth to judge between the people concerning that in which they differed. And none differed over the Scripture except those who were given it - after the clear proofs came to them - out of jealous animosity among themselves. And Allah guided those who believed to the truth concerning that over which they had differed, by His permission. And Allah guides whom He wills to a straight path." [Al-Qur'an 2:213]
“This day, I have perfected your religion for you, completed My Favour upon you, and have chosen for you Islam as your religion.” [Al Qur'an 5:3]
"[Be warned of] the Day when Allah will assemble the messengers and say, "What was the response you received?" They will say, "We have no knowledge. Indeed, it is You who is Knower of the unseen" " [Al Qur'an 5:109]
"Say, [O Muhammad], "I do not tell you that I have the depositories [containing the provision] of Allah or that I know the unseen, nor do I tell you that I am an angel. I only follow what is revealed to me." Say, "Is the blind equivalent to the seeing? Then will you not give thought? And warn by the Qur'an those who fear that they will be gathered before their Lord - for them besides Him will be no protector and no intercessor - that they might become righteous." [Al Qur'an 6:50-51]
"And We had already destroyed generations before you when they wronged, and their messengers had come to them with clear proofs, but they were not to believe. Thus do We recompense the criminal people! Then We made you successors in the land after them so that We may observe how you will do. And when Our verses are recited to them as clear evidences, those who do not expect the meeting with Us say, "Bring us a Qur'an other than this or change it." Say, [O Muhammad], "It is not for me to change it on my own accord. I only follow what is revealed to me. Indeed I fear, if I should disobey my Lord, the punishment of a tremendous Day." Say, "If Allah had willed, I would not have recited it to you, nor would He have made it known to you, for I had remained among you a lifetime before it. Then will you not reason?" So who is more unjust than he who invents a lie about Allah or denies His signs? Indeed, the criminals will not succeed. And they worship other than Allah that which neither harms them nor benefits them, and they say, "These are our intercessors with Allah " Say, "Do you inform Allah of something He does not know in the heavens or on the earth?" Exalted is He and high above what they associate with Him. And mankind was not but one community [united in religion], but [then] they differed. And if not for a word that preceded from your Lord, it would have been judged between them [immediately] concerning that over which they differ." [Al Qur'an 10:13-19]
"Alif, Lam, Ra. [This is] a Book which We have revealed to you, [O Muhammad], that you might bring mankind out of darknesses into the light by permission of their Lord - to the path of the Exalted in Might, the Praiseworthy - Allah , to whom belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. And woe to the disbelievers from a severe punishment; The ones who prefer the worldly life over the Hereafter and avert [people] from the way of Allah , seeking to make it (seem) deviant. Those are in extreme error. And We did not send any messenger except [speaking] in the language of his people to state clearly for them, and Allah sends astray [thereby] whom He wills and guides whom He wills. And He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise." [Al-Qur'an 14:1-4]
"Has there not reached you the news of those before you - the people of Noah and 'Aad and Thamud and those after them? No one knows them but Allah . Their messengers brought them clear proofs, but they returned their hands to their mouths and said, "Indeed, we disbelieve in that with which you have been sent, and indeed we are, about that to which you invite us, in disquieting doubt." Their messengers said, "Can there be doubt about Allah , Creator of the heavens and earth? He invites you that He may forgive you of your sins, and He delays your death for a specified term." They said, "You are not but men like us who wish to avert us from what our fathers were worshipping. So bring us a clear authority. Their messengers said to them, "We are only men like you, but Allah confers favor upon whom He wills of His servants. It has never been for us to bring you evidence except by permission of Allah . And upon Allah let the believers rely." [Al-Qur'an 14:9-11]
"Indeed this, your religion, is one religion, and I am your Lord, so worship Me. And they have broken their religion (into fragments) among them, (yet) all are returning unto Us. So whoever does righteous deeds while he is a believer - no denial will there be for his effort, and indeed We, of it, are recorders." [Al-Qur'an 21:92-94]
"And if they deny you, [O Muhammad] - so, before them, did the people of Noah and 'Aad and Thamud deny [their prophets]; And the people of Abraham and the people of Lot; And the inhabitants of Madyan. And Moses was denied, so I prolonged enjoyment for the disbelievers; then I seized them, and how [terrible] was My reproach. And how many a city did We destroy while it was committing wrong - so it is [now] fallen into ruin - and [how many] an abandoned well and [how many] a lofty palace. So have they not traveled through the earth and have hearts by which to reason and ears by which to hear? For indeed, it is not eyes that are blinded, but blinded are the hearts which are within the breasts. And they urge you to hasten the punishment. But Allah will never fail in His promise. And indeed, a day with your Lord is like a thousand years of those which you count. And for how many a city did I prolong enjoyment while it was committing wrong. Then I seized it, and to Me is the [final] destination. Say, "O people, I am only to you a clear warner." And those who have believed and done righteous deeds - for them is forgiveness and noble provision." [Al Qur'an 22:42-50]
Names of Prophets and Messengers revealed in the Qur'an |
Among the previously revealed books to mankind, the four mentioned by name in the Qur'an are the Suhuf Ibrahim (Scrolls of Abraham) revealed to Ibrahim (Abraham), the Tawrat (Torah or the Law) revealed to Musa (Moses), the Zabūr (Psalms) revealed to Dawud (David) and the Injil (the Gospel) revealed to Isa (Jesus) (peace be upon them).
"Indeed, Allah chose Adam and Noah and the family of Abraham and the family of 'Imran over the worlds - Descendants, some of them from others. And Allah is Hearing and Knowing." [Al-Qur'an 3:33-34]
"Abraham was neither a Jew nor a Christian, but he was one inclining toward truth, a Muslim [submitting to Allah]. And he was not of the polytheists." [Al-Qur'an 3:67]
“Verily, the first House (of worship) appointed for mankind was that at Bakkah (Makkah), full of blessing, and a guidance for Al-Alameen (the mankind and jinns)” [Al-Qur'an 3:96]
“And We bestowed upon him Ishaaq (Isaac) and Ya‘qoob (Jacob), each of them We guided, and before him, We guided Nooh (Noah), and among his progeny Dawood (David), Sulaymaan (Solomon), Ayyoob (Job), Yoosuf (Joseph), Moosa (Moses), and Haaroon (Aaron). Thus do We reward Al-Muhsinoon (the good-doers). And Zakariyya (Zachariya), and Yahya (John) and ‘Eesa (Jesus) and Ilyaas (Elias), each one of them was of the righteous. And Isma‘eel (Ishmael) and Al-Yasaa‘ (Elisha), and Yoonus (Jonah) and Loot (Lot), and each one of them We preferred above the ‘Aalameen [mankind and jinn (of their times)]” [Al-Qur'an 6:84-86]
As recorded in the previous scriptures, Baca, Beca, or Bakkah (Makkah) is revealed and confirmed in the Last & Final Testament Glorious Qur'an; the first House (of worship) appointed for mankind by the Creator, the most Glorified, the most High.
"Blessed is the man whose strength is in thee; in whose heart are the ways of them. Who passing through the valley of Baca make it a well; the rain also filleth the pools.....For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand (elsewhere)." (Psalms (Zabūr) 84:5-6, 10)
"And [mention, O Muhammad], when Abraham said, "My Lord, make this city [Bakkah (Makkah)] secure and keep me and my sons away from worshipping idols." [Al-Qur'an 14:35]
Allah (the most Glorified, the most High) revealed the Last & Final Testament Glorious Qur'an to His Last and Final messenger Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) through Jibrael (Gabriel, upon whom be peace) confirming the Qur'an and previous scriptures.
“Say (O Muhammad): “Whoever is an enemy to Jibreel (Gabriel)(let him die in his fury), for indeed he has brought it (this Qur’an) down to your heart by Allah’s Permission, confirming what came before it [i.e. the Tauraat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel)] and guidance and glad tidings for the believers” [Al-Qur'an 2:97]
"Say, [O believers], 'We have believed in Allah and what has been revealed to us and what has been revealed to Abraham and Ishmael and Isaac and Jacob and the Descendants and what was given to Moses and Jesus and what was given to the prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them, and we are Muslims [in submission] to Him.'" [Al-Qur'an 2:136]
"Say, [O Muhammad], "Do you argue with us about Allah while He is our Lord and your Lord? For us are our deeds, and for you are your deeds. And we are sincere [in deed and intention] to Him." Or do you say that Abraham and Ishmael and Isaac and Jacob and the Descendants were Jews or Christians? Say, "Are you more knowing or is Allah ?" And who is more unjust than one who conceals a testimony he has from Allah ? And Allah is not unaware of what you do. That is a nation which has passed on. It will have [the consequence of] what it earned, and you will have what you have earned. And you will not be asked about what they used to do." [Al-Qur'an 2:139-141]
"Allah - there is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of [all] existence. Neither drowsiness overtakes Him nor sleep. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission? He knows what is [presently] before them and what will be after them, and they encompass not a thing of His knowledge except for what He wills. His Kursi (throne) extends over the heavens and the earth, and their preservation tires Him not. And He is the Most High, the Most Great." [Al-Qur'an 2:255]
"And We have certainly revealed to you verses [which are] clear proofs, and no one would deny them except the defiantly disobedient. Is it not [true] that every time they took a covenant a party of them threw it away? But, [in fact], most of them do not believe. And when a messenger from Allah came to them confirming that which was with them, a party of those who had been given the Scripture threw the Scripture of Allah behind their backs as if they did not know [what it contained]." [Al-Qur'an 2:99-101]
"He has sent down upon you, [O Muhammad], the Book in truth, confirming what was before it. And He revealed the Torah and the Gospel. Before, as guidance for the people. And He revealed the Qur'an. Indeed, those who disbelieve in the verses of Allah will have a severe punishment, and Allah is exalted in Might, the Owner of Retribution." [Al-Qur'an 3:3-4]
"It is He who has sent down to you, [O Muhammad], the Book; in it are verses [that are] precise - they are the foundation of the Book - and others unspecific. As for those in whose hearts is deviation [from truth], they will follow that of it which is unspecific, seeking discord and seeking an interpretation [suitable to them]. And no one knows its [true] interpretation except Allah . But those firm in knowledge say, "We believe in it. All [of it] is from our Lord." And no one will be reminded except those of understanding." [Al-Qur'an 3:7]
“Do they not then consider the Quran carefully? Had it been from other than Allah, they would surely have found therein much contradictions.” [Al-Qur'an 4:82]
"And We have revealed to you, [O Muhammad], the Book in truth, confirming that which preceded it of the Scripture and as a criterion over it. So judge between them by what Allah has revealed and do not follow their inclinations away from what has come to you of the truth. To each of you We prescribed a law and a method. Had Allah willed, He would have made you one nation [united in religion], but [He intended] to test you in what He has given you; so race to [all that is] good. To Allah is your return all together, and He will [then] inform you concerning that over which you used to differ." [Al-Qur'an 5:48]
"Say: 'It is the truth from your Lord. Let anyone who wishes to, believe, and let anyone who wishes to, disbelieve.'" [Al-Qur'an 8:29]
"And We sent not before you any messenger except that We revealed to him that, "There is no deity except Me, so worship Me." [Al-Qur'an 21:25]
"Have those who disbelieved not considered that the heavens and the earth were a joined entity, and We separated them and made from water every living thing? Then will they not believe? And We placed within the earth firmly set mountains, lest it should shift with them, and We made therein [mountain] passes [as] roads that they might be guided. And We made the sky a protected ceiling, but they, from its signs, are turning away. And it is He who created the night and the day and the sun and the moon; all [heavenly bodies] in an orbit are swimming. And We did not grant to any man before you eternity [on earth]; so if you die - would they be eternal? Every soul will taste death. And We test you with evil and with good as trial; and to Us you will be returned." [Al-Qur'an 21:30-35]
"Say, He is Allah , [who is] One, Allah , the Eternal Refuge. He neither begets nor is born, Nor is there to Him any equivalent." [Al-Qur'an 112:1-4]
The Torah and Gospel, the previous scriptures, recorded the following.
"Hear O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.” (Deuteronomy 6:4, Mark 12:29)
“‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve.’” (Luke 4:8)
“Jesus (peace be upon him) answered them and said, ‘My doctrine is not mine, but His who sent me.’” (John 7:16)
“Why do you call me good: No one is good but One, that is, God.” (Matthew 19:17, Mark 10-18, and Luke 18:19)
“For I have come down from heaven, not to do my own will, but the will of Him who sent me.” (John 6:38)
"Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished." (Matthew 5:17-18)
"Why do you ask me about what is good?” Jesus replied. “There is only One who is good. If you want to enter life, keep the commandments." (Matthew 19:17)
“My Father is greater than I.” (John 14:28)
“I can of myself do nothing … I do not seek my own will but the will of the Father who sent me.” (John 5:30)
"I cast out devils by the Spirit of God..." (Matthew 12:28)
“For I have not spoken on my own authority; but the Father who sent me gave me a command, what I should say and what I should speak.” (John 12:49)
“But now you seek to kill me, a man who has told you the truth which I heard from God …” (John 8:40)
"Jesus cried out in a loud voice, “Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?” (“E’-Li, E’-Li la’-ma sa-bach’-tha-ni” (in Hebrew); ‘Allah Allah lama tarak tani’ (in Arabic); which means “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”)" (Matthew 27:46)
"Fellow Israelites, listen to this: Jesus of Nazareth was a man accredited by God to you by miracles, wonders and signs, which God did among you through him, as you yourselves know." (Acts 2:22)
It is revealed and confirmed in the Last & Final Testament, the Glorious Qur’an:
“He [Jesus] said: ‘I am indeed a servant of Allah: He has given me Revelation and made me a prophet’” [Al-Qur'an 19:30]
"(Remember) when the angels said: ‘O Maryam (Mary)! Verily, Allah gives you the glad tidings of a Word [“Be!” — and he was! i.e. ‘Isa (Jesus) the son of Maryam (Mary)] from Him, his name will be the Messiah ‘Isa (Jesus), the son of Maryam (Mary), held in honour in this world and in the Hereafter, and will be one of those who are near to Allah. He will speak to the people, in the cradle and in manhood, and he will be one of the righteous.’ She said: ‘O my Lord! How shall I have a son when no man has touched me.’ He said: ‘So (it will be) for Allah creates what He wills. When He has decreed something, He says to it only: “Be!” and it is’” And He will teach him writing and wisdom and the Torah and the Gospel. And [make him] a messenger to the Children of Israel, [who will say], 'Indeed I have come to you with a sign from your Lord in that I design for you from clay [that which is] like the form of a bird, then I breathe into it and it becomes a bird by permission of Allah . And I cure the blind and the leper, and I give life to the dead - by permission of Allah . And I inform you of what you eat and what you store in your houses. Indeed in that is a sign for you, if you are believers." [Al-Qur'an 3:45-49]
“Indeed, the example of Jesus to Allah is like that of Adam. He created Him from dust; then He said to him, "Be," and he was.” [Al-Qur'an 3:59]
"[The Day] when Allah will say, "O Jesus, Son of Mary, remember My favor upon you and upon your mother when I supported you with the Pure Spirit and you spoke to the people in the cradle and in maturity; and [remember] when I taught you writing and wisdom and the Torah and the Gospel; and when you designed from clay [what was] like the form of a bird with My permission, then you breathed into it, and it became a bird with My permission; and you healed the blind and the leper with My permission; and when you brought forth the dead with My permission; and when I restrained the Children of Israel from [killing] you when you came to them with clear proofs and those who disbelieved among them said, "This is not but obvious magic. And [remember] when I inspired to the disciples, "Believe in Me and in My messenger Jesus." They said, "We have believed, so bear witness that indeed we are Muslims [in submission to Allah]."" [Al-Qur'an 5:110-111]
“And (remember) when Allah will say (on the Day of Resurrection): "O 'Eesa (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary)! Did you say unto men: 'Worship me and my mother as two gods besides Allah?'" He will say: "Glory be to You! It was not for me to say what I had no right (to say)." [Al-Qur'an 5:116]
"And (remember) when ‘Isa (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary), said: ‘O Children of Israel! I am the Messenger of Allah unto you, confirming the Tawrat [(Torah) which came] before me, and giving glad tidings of a Messenger to come after me, whose name shall be Ahmad.’ But when he (Ahmad, i.e. Muhammad) came to them with clear proofs, they said: ‘This is plain magic’”" [Al-Qur'an 61:6]
The fact that there is the foretelling of Muhammad (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) in the earlier books is something that is proven and established, as Allah, may He be glorified and exalted, says:
“Those who follow the Messenger, the Prophet who can neither read nor write (i.e. Muhammad (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him)) whom they find written in what they have of the Torah and the Gospel, who enjoins upon them what is right and forbids them what is wrong and makes lawful for them the good things and prohibits for them the evil and relieves them of their burden and the shackles which were upon them. So they who have believed in him, honored him, supported him and followed the light which was sent down with him - it is those who will be the successful.” [Al-Qur'an 7:157]
"The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among you, from your fellow Israelites. You must listen to him." (Deuteronomy 18:15)
"And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever—" (John 14:16)
"I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you." (John 16:12-14)
"Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment." (John 16:7-8)
"He has ordained for you of religion what He enjoined upon Noah and that which We have revealed to you, [O Muhammad], and what We enjoined upon Abraham and Moses and Jesus - to establish the religion and not be divided therein. Difficult for those who associate others with Allah is that to which you invite them. Allah chooses for Himself whom He wills and guides to Himself whoever turns back [to Him]. And they did not become divided until after knowledge had come to them - out of jealous animosity between themselves. And if not for a word that preceded from your Lord [postponing the penalty] until a specified time, it would have been concluded between them. And indeed, those who were granted inheritance of the Scripture after them are, concerning it, in disquieting doubt." [Al-Qur'an 42:13-14]
“And (remember) when Moosa (Moses) said to his people: ‘O my people! Why do you hurt me while you know certainly that I am the Messenger of Allah to you?’ So when they turned away (from the Path of Allah), Allah turned their hearts away (from the Right Path). And Allah guides not the people who are Fasiqoon (rebellious, disobedient to Allah)” [Al-Qur'an 61:5]
"How can you disbelieve in Allah when you were lifeless and He brought you to life; then He will cause you to die, then He will bring you [back] to life, and then to Him you will be returned." [Al-Qur'an 2:28]
"Or were they created by nothing, or were they the creators [of themselves]?" [Qur'an 52:35]
"And he puts forth for Us a parable, and forgets his own creation. He says: "Who will give life to these bones after they are rotten and have become dust?" Say: [O Muhammad] "He will give life to them Who created them for the first time! And He is the All-Knower of every creation!" [Al-Qur'an 36:78-79]
"O mankind, worship your Lord, who created you and those before you, that you may become righteous - [He] who made for you the earth a bed [spread out] and the sky a ceiling and sent down from the sky, rain and brought forth thereby fruits as provision for you. So do not attribute to Allah equals while you know." [Al-Qur'an 2:21-22]
Muslims (in Arabic, means "ones who submits) seek to live in accordance with Almighty God's laws. All aspects of their practice including prayer, fasting, charity, pilgrimage together with six principles of faith to believe in Allah, His angels, His Books, His Messengers, the Last Day, the Divine Decree (both good and bad) are intended to help meet this goal.
Muslims believe in all the prophets of the Christians and Jews including Adam, Noah, Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Job, Moses, Aaron, David, Solomon, Elias, Jonah, John the Baptist, and Jesus (peace be upon them).
Ibraaheem (Abraham, peace be upon him) was the father of the Prophets; no Prophet was sent after him but he was from among his descendents. Ibraaheem’s two sons whom Allah chose to be Prophets (Isaac and Ismaa'el); from among Ismaa'el descendents, Allah sent Prophet Muhammad, and Ishaaq (Isaac) whom Allah blessed with Prophet Ya’qoob (Jacob), who was also known as Israa’eel, after whom Bani Israa’eel (the Children of Israel) and their Prophets were called.
Ibraaheem (Abraham, peace be upon him) called his people in Mesopotamia to worship Allah alone and to stop worshipping the idols which could neither bring benefit nor cause harm.
"Say: O People of the Scripture! Come to an agreement between us and you: that we shall worship none but Allah, and that we shall ascribe no partner unto Him, and that none of us shall take others for lords beside Allah. And if they turn away, then say: Bear witness that we are they who have surrendered (unto Him). "O People of the Scripture, why do you argue about Abraham while the Torah and the Gospel were not revealed until after him? Then will you not reason? Here you are - those who have argued about that of which you have [some] knowledge, but why do you argue about that of which you have no knowledge? And Allah knows, while you know not. Abraham was neither a Jew nor a Christian, but he was one inclining toward truth, a Muslim [submitting to Allah ]. And he was not of the polytheists. Indeed, the most worthy of Abraham among the people are those who followed him [in submission to Allah ] and this prophet, and those who believe [in his message]. And Allah is the ally of the believers. [Al-Qur'an 3:64-68]
“And [We sent] Abraham, when he said to his people, "Worship Allah and fear Him. That is best for you, if you should know. You only worship, besides Allah , idols, and you produce a falsehood. Indeed, those you worship besides Allah do not possess for you [the power of] provision. So seek from Allah provision and worship Him and be grateful to Him. To Him you will be returned.”" [Al-Qur'an 29:16-17]
The time of Abraham’s (pbuh) birth is estimated to be around 1996 B.C. he is estimated to have died at the age of 175. The time of Moses’ (pbuh) birth is estimated at around 1571 BC. If these estimations are correct, then the time between the death of Abraham (pbuh) and the birth of Moses (pbuh) is 250 years. It is generally held that Moses (pbuh) died at the age of 120 years (around 1451 B.C.). The year of David’s (pbuh) birth is estimated at around 1085 B.C. This would mean that the time between Moses (pbuh) and David (pbuh) was around 366 years. It is held that David lived for 71 years (died around 1014 B.C.). Jesus (pbuh) was born around 1400 years after David (pbuh) and Muhammad (pbuh) was born about 530 years after the Christ.
The Last and Final messenger, Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him and his family) is a direct descendant of Abraham through his first born son, Ishmael. His prophethood is prophesied in the Bible.

"I will raise up for them a prophet like you from among their brethren, and I will put my words in his mouth. He will tell them everything I command him. I myself will call to account anyone who does not listen to my words that the prophet speaks in my name." (Deuteronomy 18:18-19)
Allah (The most Glorified, the most High) says:
“And We have not sent you, [O Muhammad], except as a mercy to the worlds.” [Al-Qur'an 21:107]
"Just as We have sent among you a messenger from yourselves reciting to you Our verses and purifying you and teaching you the Book and wisdom and teaching you that which you did not know. So remember Me; I will remember you. And be grateful to Me and do not deny Me." [Al-Qur'an 2:151-152]
"O you who have believed, bow and prostrate and worship your Lord and do good - that you may succeed." [Al-Qur'an 22:77]
Prostrations (sajadat, plural of sujud or sajda) are used to praise, glorify and humble oneself in front of Allah (The Lord), and are a vital part of the five obligatory prayers performed daily; this is deemed obligatory for every Muslim whether the prayers are being performed individually or in congregation.
Prostrations are recorded in the previous scriptures (the Torah and Gospel).

The Qur'an contains many stories that are familiar to Christians and Jews. It was not created by man but was revealed to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). It contains no scientific fallacies or internal contradictions. In fact, it contains much scientific knowledge discovered by scientists only in this century. The Qur'an is an unparalleled Arabic literary masterpiece. Furthermore, it survives in its original revealed form, unlike the Torah and the Gospel.
Allah (the most Glorified, the most High) revealed in the Qur'an (the Last & Final Testament):
"Indeed, it is We who sent down the Qur'an and indeed, We will be its guardian." [Al-Qur'an 15:9]
"Alif Laam Meem. Do the people think that they will be left to say, 'We believe' and they will not be tried? But We have certainly tried those before them, and Allah will surely make evident those who are truthful, and He will surely make evident the liars.)" [Al-Qur'an 29:1-3]
"And of His signs is the creation of the heavens and the earth and the diversity of your languages and your colors. Indeed in that are signs for those of knowledge." [Al-Qur'an 30:22]
"[This is] a blessed Book which We have revealed to you, that they might reflect upon its verses and that those of understanding would be reminded." [Al-Qur'an 38:29]
“We will show them Our Signs in the universe, and in their own selves, until it becomes manifest to them that this (the Quran) is the truth” [Al-Qur'an 41:53]
"O mankind, indeed We have created you from male and female and made you peoples and tribes that you may know one another. Indeed, the most noble of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous of you. Indeed, Allah is Knowing and Acquainted." [Al-Qur'an 49:13]
"[He] who created death and life to test you [as to] which of you is best in deed - and He is the Exalted in Might, the Forgiving." [Al-Qur'an 67:2]
"By time, Indeed, mankind is in loss, Except for those who have believed and done righteous deeds and advised each other to truth and advised each other to patience." [Al-Qur'an 103:1-3]
